Pictures and video of the scenery, terrain, and places within and surrounding the Asheville area of western North Carolina specifically in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Pisgah National Forest, Smoky Mountains. Often surrounding Bruno and his family and friends and their adventures and activities.
A bit about Asheville and the area from Bruno:
“I grew up in the Asheville area. I was born in Denver and lived all over the United States (including Alaska!) until 1989. We moved to Black Mountain off NC Highway 9 after the Loma Linda Earthquake in Santa Cruz, California. My step-father was a Master Wood Carver and his teacher let us share a house with him and his family down on Crooked Creek for a short while until we found a place of our own. I lived mostly in the mountains in between Asheville and Lake Lure (Hickory Nut Gorge) and Black Mountain until my father moved down from Alaska when I was 10 years old. I moved in with him and we lived in a community of town homes in East Asheville until I was in High School. Then we moved to Fairview on Flat Top Mountain Road.”
“Looking back, I really enjoyed my childhood. I had an incredibly diverse upbringing and I don’t think I could be as strong as I am today and have dealt with the things I’ve seen if it hadn’t been for all of my families growing up. I think Asheville played a big roll in that diversity during my teenage years and still does today as I raise my own kids. Asheville somehow is emotionally connected to my soul in a way now that I can’t really explain. I can only tell you that there is a strong chance you will experience something similar if you visit here. It’s the oldest place in the world, being above sea level for 290 million years. If you ever want to visit just tweet and we can hook up and check some cool spots out!”
