Gold Standard Award with Black Background

Amazing. SO powerful. Nike nailed it again!

I’m posting this wiping the tears from my face via Nike | YouTube. :

Do certain roles in humanity have a life of their own? The legendary character profile seems to be accompanying these people when they are born. Dedicated to a cause so great, perfection in one area of life.

Nike has always had a brilliant marketing team. Never having a problem changing into different arenas for content, either. From Radio and 80’s Free TV, to the Cable TV of today, to YouTube and social media now, Nike is a brand you can depend on to get the point across that hard work and dedication breeds success and their company wants to have their logo right next to the word in the dictionary.

Have a wonderful rest of your day!

Patriotic Walmart Kids

Viral Video: Random Acts of Patriotism Recorded at Walmart

This viral video was #2 on Reddit this morning.

The poster said with the link, “My dad recorded these kids at Walmart today.” They are singing the national anthem into a residential style wind fan. It’s amazingly patriotic. Hope it puts a smile on your face, it sure did it for me!

The lyrics come from “Defence of Fort M’Henry”, a poem written in 1814 by the 35-year-old lawyer and amateur poet Francis Scott Key after witnessing the bombardment of Fort McHenry by British ships of the Royal Navy in the Chesapeake Bay during the Battle of Fort McHenry in the War of 1812.

Here are the lyrics as written by Francis Scott Key in case you want to sing along:

Oh, say! can you see by the dawn’s early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming;
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there:
Oh, say! does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam,
In fully glory reflected now shines in the stream:
‘Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh, long may it wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vuntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps’ pollution!
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Oh, thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war’s desolation!
Bless with victory and peace, may the heav’rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: “In God is our trust”:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
