PewDiePie Suspended From Twitter

PewDiePie Suspended From Twitter

There are no 100% positive reports about why PewDiePie’s twitter was suspended today, but based on our following of the account we can make some pretty solid guesses.

  1. PewDiePie deverified his twitter account 24 hours prior. No real reason given.
  2. PewDiePie probably received too many this account may be hacked reports from twitter fans while tweeting some very sensitive things intended to be jokes.

UPDATE: PewDiePie is back and with this tweet parodying another YouTube star’s drama filled situation from a few weeks ago.

YouTube is cracking down on content

In other YouTube superstar news, long time genre leader and news host, Philip DeFranco (@PhillyD on Twitter) has encountered some new form of monetization restrictions via YouTube’s internal user interface.

Philip tweeted out an image which shows that YouTube was specifically targeting his video due to not being advertiser friendly. His tweet referencing the image specifically mentions “stripping most of my advertising”.

He continued to say, he would not “censor” himself, which means he intends to post content the same way as before without using YouTube’s monetization when applicable.

He then tweeted later that his people reached out to YouTube for confirmation and said that, “it wasn’t a mistake. Feels a little bit like getting stabbed in the back after 10 years.”

We’ve watched YouTube from day one and seen it transition to Google’s ownership and transform many times over the years. A few months back, Google and YouTube announced that some changes were going to occur regarding monetization regarding bullying and those types of non advertiser friendly content.

Even though Phil didn’t immediately convey clearly that was the issue or admit that the problem was the content, we think that this is the real problem YouTube has, not that he has personal advertising links that do not contribute to YouTube’s financial gain.

UPDATE: It seems we are starting to see that YouTube is just now starting to deliver this information to creators.

Google Announces Big Changes After Listening To Users At Vidcon

Wow! Okay, Google, Good Game (GG!) on listening to it’s users. On the heals of YouTube’s CEO visiting VidCon and participating directly in discussion with content creators, I can only assume this was the nail in the coffin, so to speak. Very proud of you Google. Hear from day 1 until infinite and beyond. Also, I believe a huge shoutout goes to Ryan Fwiz Wyatt for his efforts in taking the creator’s issues to the decision makers desks. Keep on, keeping on folks! Can’t wait to see what you roll out next.

Everything We Know About YouTube Gaming

Everything We Know About YouTube Gaming

Today, YouTube announces YouTube Gaming division. This is the long awaited upgrade to YouTube’s live streaming and chatting experience. We are banking on most of these upgrades being heavily influenced by @Fwiz and his video gaming sphere of influence.

The below is the story line as it unfolded on Twitter this afternoon via the official @YouTubeGaming account:

A new player has entered the game. Introducing YouTube Gaming. Level up. Our brand-new user experience puts games front and center, including live gaming. We’re available on the web, mobile and tablet on both Android and iOS, so you’ll never miss an update. View content in three ways: through Games, Feed, and Channels. Good shelf organization and naming will create a killer channel in the YouTube Gaming App. In My Games, you can tell the App which games you are really into and get more relevant recommendations.

The officially recognized reaction via an @YouTubeGaming Twitter “Favorite” from the public is this GIF posted as a reply by Twitter user @ScottLowe. This confirms our theory that Ryan “Fwiz” Wyatt (@Fwiz) is in complete control of the @YouTubeGaming Twitter account.:

Note from Bruno:

I’ve been excited about Fwiz’s take over of YouTube gaming since day one. He is a dedicated worker at whatever he sets his mind to. I’ve seen nothing but complete success from him in the past and continue to expect nothing less from him in the future. I will be streaming on YouTube again soon as promised back in 2013 when I announced that I was leaving YouTube until the chat was fixed. Thanks Fwiz for listening to the community and implementing a great change in our original favorite gaming entertainment venue. Great change takes time and I’m sure it was waiting for release after the mobile apps were fixed. I hope to also see creators get a share of mobile advertisement revenue in the future as well. Hugs and whiskey – Bruno.

Then @OpticNadeshot (Matt Haag), who just recently retired from “Optic Gaming” as the world’s most popular professional Call of Duty player, tweeted this picture out saying: “Look where I am 👀 “

The official series of tweets from @YouTubeGaming:

Then, in a surprise turn of events @Fwiz turns over @YouTubeGaming to long time friend and past owner of Optic Gaming: @opticJ. His confirmation:

We’d like to congratulate OpticJ on his position as the @YouTubeGaming official Community Manager!

Finally they announced this link to be the official resource until later. http://youtube-global.blogspot.com/2015/06/a-youtube-built-for-gamers.html and this is the link to subscribe to be notified of further information via email: https://gaming.youtube.com/coming_soon

Social Blade Breaks Up With Maker Studios

Changes In YouTube’s MCN Market

Social Blade announced today that they are leaving a partnership with Maker Studios (recently purchased by Disney) and they are beginning a new partnership with BroadbandTV. Here is what Social Blade had to say officially (directly from SocialBlade.com):

Social Blade and BroadbandTV

Three years ago, we launched the Social Blade Partner Program through an affiliation with Maker Studios. As time progressed, we realized that the needs of our partners were changing, and we found ourselves unable to work with directly with our partners in the capacity that we wanted to. Listening to the valuable feedback of our partners and taking into careful consideration our own experiences over the past few years, we decided that our arrangement wasn’t the best fit.

Today we’re excited to announce a newly-formed partnership between Social Blade and leading media company BroadbandTV. Combining the reach and expertise of Social Blade with the technology and infrastructure of BroadbandTV will allow us to serve our partners better, with more exclusive partnership benefits and opportunities for those who give us the privilege of representing them.

In fact, we’re so confident in the revamped Social Blade Partner Program, that we’re offering prospective partners a 30-day trial period. If you’re unhappy any time during the first 30 days of your time as a partner with us, just shoot us an email and we’ll be happy to release you. We’re only truly benefiting when our partners are happy.

We reached out to SocialBlade for comment about a few particulars concerning current partners.

Bruno: “Are current Social Blade partners staying with Maker Studios or leaving with Social Blade to join BroadbandTV?”

Social Blade: “Current partners will stay with Maker Studios unless they choose to change over. Social Blade will still be supporting and promoting ‘Legacy’ partners, too.”

Bruno: “Will changing over to BroadbandTV from Maker Studios be difficult for current partners?”

Social Blade: “If a partner is in a contract with Maker Studios, than that is between the partner and Maker Studios to discuss. We don’t know any information on how hard or easy this process will be.”

If you have other questions or concerns regarding this change, please see Social Blade’s official press release or reach out to Social Blade directly via Twitter (@SocialBlade).

Here at CorporalBruno.com we wish all parties involved good luck on their future endeavors!
